The S50K sire chip test is being commercialised by Ovita's commercilisation partner, Pfizer Animal Genetics. The results that the purchaser receives will be molecular breeding values (MBVs). These MBVs can be uploaded by SIL and blended with estimated breeding values (EBVs) to create genomic breeding values (GBVs).

Yellow fat
The following is an example of a SNP 'result'. The red arrow points to the single SNP that is near the causative mutation for the yellow fat trait seen below. The causative mutation for yellow fat was found using the SNP chip technology platform in a matter of months.
